DiDomenico Receives GridIrons Gives Back Award
Barrington inside linebacker Cole DiDomenico received the "GridIrons Gives Back" scholarship award for excellence in the classroom as well as on the gridiron.
Sponsored by Kelleher + Holland, LLC and in conjunction with GridIrons, DiDomenico received a check towards tuition at Indiana University, where he will be attending in the fall.
Nominated for the scholarship by Broncos head coach Joe Sanchez, DiDomenico currently has a GPA of 4.65. He plans to study business and has dabbled with the idea of trying to be a walk-on for the Hoosiers football program.
DiDomenico was a defensive co-captain for the Broncos in 2022 and earned 2022 All-MSL Conference honors.
"Cole has been a great representative of our program over the last four years," said Sanchez. "He was a tremendous student-athlete who did a great job of performing at a high level in the classroom and on the field. I know because of his hard work, character and commitment to excellence, he will do well in whatever he chooses to pursue in the future."
High praise from Barrington's winningest football coach of all-time, whose current win total with the program stands at an impressive 150 victories.
"It means a lot to be chosen by coach," said DiDomenico. "I put everything I had into this program and always was willing to do whatever it took to put the team first. So it's rewarding that all the hard work paid off and it feels good to be considered for this award."
