Conant Completes Clean Sweep of Barrington
Rajat Mittal scored a game-high 25 points and Anthony Wachal chipped in 15 as the Cougars notched its third conference win with a 60-52 victory over visiting Barrington.
Mittal was a one-man wrecking crew on the night, scoring 10 fourth quarter points to guide Conant.
"He told me he was sick and didn't think it was going to be a good day today," said Cougars head coach Jim Maley. "I told him that when I used to get sick, I seemed to play better and was more focused."
"Maybe we need to get him sick more often," Maley added jokingly.
In the nightcap, senior Hannah Shulman led all scorers with 17 points and Stephanie Mazurek added 13 as the Lady Cougars erased a seven-point halftime deficit to prevail 58-44 to earn its third conference win.
"At the half, we talked about being aggressive and communicating, especially on the defensive end," said Conant head coach Todd Strauch. "We were able to pressure on them and move the ball in transition."
